Q: Can you give an update on MCU and the Equipment delivery onto the Comstock?
A: Thank you for the question. I couldn’t be more excited to report that Oro Industries has completed shipping the equipment to the Comstock and despite the COVID obstacles and delays, the crew, led by Paul Clift, CEO of MCU and Oro Industries, have been working hard to complete the installation.
We established an almost perfect location on the back of our leach pad, in immediate proximity to water, power, haul roads, etc., and even some of the old mine dumps known to have residual mercury. We used local partners (FRANK PEDLAR!!) for leveling and cleaning the existing pad area and to build a retaining wall, all within our permitted guidelines. You can see Comstock’s crusher in the background.
After the high strength weather-resistant powder coating and final pre-ship assembly and freight logistics were completed, the system began arriving on the Comstock on July 29. Here is a photo of the truck coming down American Flat Road. And the photos below show some amazing progress from the last three weeks as we work on getting the system set-up.
The Oro and MCU teams ensured all equipment was meticulously manufactured and assembled with exceptional attention to a quality system. We couldn’t be more pleased with the effort of our teams and progress of our mercury remediation business. Please see the great photos below as well as Paul’s recent update.
Kindest regards,

Our setup of the MCU process plant and DAF components is nearly 90% complete. We just need to connect the recycle pump to the DAF unit and finish installing the “Bag Filtration” unit.
The electrical and water connections were all successfully completed on Friday and all were running very nicely. We also successfully ran some load tests of the process plant using “Comstock leached materials” late Friday afternoon. There are only a few adjustments and some fine tunings left to go. Monday through Wednesday, the Oro crew will adjust and tune the process plant components, as well as complete the pump and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system installation. The DAF specialist will fly in and drive up to the Comstock later Wednesday. Testing of the DAF system will be on Thursday. Once the DAF unit is ready, testing of the process plant and DAF system will commence. Testing consists of running the entire system together with small amounts of materials to balance the process plant with the DAF.
The on-site containerized Lab is scheduled to arrive on Thursday. Stay tuned, more updates to come.
Sincerely,
Paul Clift
